Interested in Traumatic Brain Injury research?

Would you like to find out more about research in Traumatic Brain Injury?

Our annual ‘Meet the Scientists’ Day is back this year on the 29th of November, in the Wolfson Education Centre, Hammersmith Campus of Imperial College London in White City, W12 0NN. The event will be from 1pm-5pm.

150923_TBI_meet_the_scientist__075What will the event involve?

This half-day, which is completely free to attend, will feature tours of the Imperial College research facility along with talks and demonstrations from researchers outlining the techniques we use and the sorts of questions we are trying to answer.

These tours will be followed by a panel discussion about the influence of technology at home for research purposes after a brain injury.

There will also be an opportunity to give us your thoughts and tell us about any experiences you’ve had about taking part in brain injury research. You can also sign up to take part in current and future research studies.

What facilities are provided?
Lunch will be provided when attendees arrive. During lunch, there will be some posters about the research that’s been conducted in brain injury and you can chat informally with our researchers. The day will end with tea & coffee.

The Wolfson Education Centre and all the tours will be fully 150923_TBI_meet_the_scientist__052accessible to wheelchairs. Please let us know if you know you will be bringing one, or have any mobility issues you would like to discuss with us.

The nearest tube stop to us is East Acton or White City (Central Line). Several local busses stop outside the site.
There is pay & display parking on the hospital grounds & there are spaces in front of the hospital. However, we cannot reserve parking or cover parking costs if all disabled parking bays are occupied. A map of the campus can be accessed here, with the event being held in building 2.

This event is completely free.

Who is this event open to?

This event is primarily for patients and carers of patients with traumatic brain injury, however we welcome all those who have an interest in TBI research to attend.

Can I just turn up on the day or do I have to book?
We are very limited in numbers, so it is essential that you book.
You can book here.

Equally, if you book and then realise you can no longer make it, please let us know so that we can release these tickets for someone else.

If you have any further questions, please contact: kaz11@ic.ac.uk

We’re looking forward to seeing you!
